Pros

Laid back and relaxed work environment, attempts are made at team building Good volunteer opportunities

Cons

Feels like a boys club, all executives are men, %90 of the employees are men, very little diversity in the workforce Lack of direction resulted in huge layoffs, leading to more work for remaining employees with no recognition or pay raise to compensate You are either micromanaged or not managed at all, annual reviews reflect very little tracking of accomplishments Pay is well below market average and "raises" consist of barely COLA Little to no room for advancement beyond taking on more responsibilities for little to no pay increase

Pros

Free snacks every friday (company BBQ during summer), friendly environment, focus on the individual, company sponsored events multiple times a year, experience with managers has been great

Cons

Low pay for the industry, invests more in R&D than their employees, lack of communication between departments, and lacking structure of benefits between departments (pay scale)

Pros

The company and leadership appreciate employees who invest themselves in the company, and in-turn provides opportunities for growth (position/title, salary, responsibility, and career). Video Surveillance is a fairly different sector of technology that treats IT professionals differently, and OpenEye is a great example of this. Big parent company (better benefits, HR, and Recruiting departments); but OpenEye is allowed to operate on its own mostly, so it still feels like a small local company. Fun employee functions like BBQs, breakfast treats on most Fridays, and a game room attached to the breakroom. Community involvement with activities like Centennial Trail clean-up, volunteering at 2nd Harvest Food Bank or with Habitat for Humanity, and buildings bikes with underprivileged kids.

Cons

Some entry positions may be undervalued when it comes to starting salary. Better structure to internal training is needed.
