Disreputable and untrustworthy

Pros

Food and drinks are free

Cons

toxic work environment from Sr Management down. Very "closed door" decision-making with no transparency. Managers will lie to your face about salary, bonus and performance, then do a 180-degree turn once they leave the room, so you have to get EVERYTHING in email!

Don’t fall for it

Pros

Mission driven company, unlimited PTO (see below), kickoff events

Cons

Do not make the same mistake I did. So many red flags that I chose to ignore. Work life balance is not existent, they make it very clear to the whole company this is not a 9-5 job. The products are just decent at best and the only market is state and local government. Not a hot place to be right now. The people are the absolute worst I’ve ever encountered in my career. From my direct manager, to my peers, to leadership, I’ve never witnessed such poor treatment of employees. Very cliquey among the departments. unlimited PTO but I was denied 4 times in less than a year period. If you value your humanity and really want to work at a place that values you as a person, Opengov is NOT for you. Don’t work here, let alone apply. A huge waste of time and effort.

We’re sorry to hear this was your experience, as it doesn’t reflect the culture we’re building at OpenGov or the feedback we hear from most employees, many of whom cite their colleagues as a highlight. We take concerns about balance, leadership, and support seriously. That said, we firmly believe state and local government is a hot space to be in! It’s the core of our democracy, and we’re proud to be driving innovation where it matters most.

Pros

DO NOT WORK HERE. THERE IS NOTHING GOOD ABOUT THIS ORGANIZATION.

Cons

If anyone finds this post: DO NOT WORK HERE. I AM WARNING YOU. Easily the most toxic backwards tech company I've ever worked for. The CEO has no business running that company - no tech background, no municipal government background, no sales background. The VP level is insane and will give you whiplash. You'll get no support from anyone ever and everyone you like will be fired with in 6 months. Their application doesn't even work and went down for almost 2 weeks this year. The C suite just wants an exit and have diluted all the equity for an acquisition
