Pros

As a newly hired employee with minimal experience applying for a company like OpenGov, I didn't really know what to expect. The OpenGov team far exceeded any expectations that I may have had! The Talent Acquisition team was eager, very responsive, and very willing to work with me on scheduling interviews, discussing salary and benefits, and getting me ready for my onsite interview. The management team I interviewed with was fantastic, very knowledgable, thorough, and I feel like they knew exactly what they were looking for in a candidate. The team really impressed me by setting up my onsite interview within a week of my first discussions, covering my expenses to go to HQ, and then welcoming me into the office as one of their own. From my name on the monitors when I came in, to free lunch with the employees, to the thoughtful and engaging discussions with each of my interview panel, I couldn't have planned it better! Thank you to OpenGov!

Cons

Pros

- Strong technical abilities and high-caliber employees - Exceptional EQ across the org - Accountability: teammates hold themselves to the standards they set for themselves and work with others to meet their respective goals - Purpose to the work day: we're all trying to power more effective and accountable government--it shows in the numbers we have and the quality of the work we do!

Cons

[More of a challenge rather than a con] As in any startup culture, this place moves -fast-. It may be a challenge to adjust to the cadence of this company but far from impossible/unbearable. Once your work pace with the quarter is nailed down, there is never a boring day and work is fulfilling!

Pros

- The product, while immature, is great for the space that they're in

Cons

SO many egos. Definite "bro" culture. Fall in line with it or GTFO attitude. If you are a minority or protected class of any sort, count on discrimination and targeting. They literally lost 4 women on a 6 person team in the span of 2 months because of this culture. It is truly a toxic environment unless you are a bro. If you're in sales, count on being let go around 6 months. Over 50% of AEs didn't make it past 6 months. Compensation is terrible and work-life balance is nonexistent. They request positive reviews whenever there are negative reviews posted and managers follow up to be sure you've created one that speaks positively about the company
