Best Job I've Had

Pros

I've sold for a few software companies in the Bay Area and can say this is easily the best job I've had. The team is dedicated to the mission - to power more effective and accountable government, and provides huge value to a very underserved market (local government). Great product that truly wows prospects and customers. Sales leadership gives reps freedom to build out territory (not micromanaged). Very supportive team from the top down - even senior executives are open to discuss ideas or jump on calls to help with deals. Killer leadership and advisory team (Andreesen, etc) who have been successful before. All the standard Bay Area perks (catered lunch 5 days a week, sponsored gym membership, dry cleaning, etc).

Cons

Though we have thousands of customers, the company is still figuring some things out. Can't just coast to your number - need to put in some nights and weekends occasionally.

Pros

I have worked at OpenGov as a Sales Development Representative for almost six months and I've loved my time here so far. My previous position was with a corporate staffing firm where, aside from a standard 401k and health benefits plan, the employee benefits were coffee and water available in our small kitchen. OpenGov has exceeded all of my expectations as far as being a supportive workplace where management genuinely cares about your career aspirations, individual performance and achievement, professional development, and a fully-loaded kitchen area! I view OpenGov as a place where there's great opportunity with a government tech company with a highly specialized and competitive product that works in the local government space.

Cons

Since OpenGov is a startup company, there is some influx of organizational changes.

Pros

Company "walks the talk" for current company goals and initiatives, as well as the development of their people. Their Leadership is compromised of top notch execs in industry who are invested in the culture, product, and mission of the Company. Every one is a team player, motivated, works hard, and is never too busy to help and share knowledge. This is a fast-paced, start-up tech environment. If you are the type that likes to hustle and excel in your role, you will feel right at home. Having prior SaaS start-up to IPO experience, I'm extremely impressed with existing company processes and am confident in its future.

Cons

None. Seriously. I am trying to think of one, small, even constructive con and I am running a total blank.
