Employees are just numbers on a spreadsheet

Pros

Chance to work from home, good work/life balance.

Cons

No career opportunities, no chances to meet management, no respect for your work, you are just considered as an entry in a spreadsheet. Open Text is a black hole which keeps making acquisitions, firing the most part of acquired employees and making the acquired products dying.

Pros

After reading through several negative posts, I felt compelled to write a review of my own. My experience has been very positive. The enthusiasm within the sales team is contagious. I've found all of my co-workers to be very pleasant and eager to help when needed. We have great products to sell and the resources to be successful.

Cons

Change is constant due mainly to mergers and acquisitions but also plans for future growth. If you're not easily adaptable, this may not be the right company for you. Because our portfolio is so diverse, there is a lot to learn for anyone new to OT and it can be a bit overwhelming.

Pros

Big company with an easy pace of work. Open to remote employees. Decent benefits. Nice place to be if you have no other job options

Cons

Regardless of what you hear, this is a 21st century Computer Associates where old software goes to be acquired and quietly die in peace. Maybe different in Canada but there's no real innovation and the company is a mish-mash of cultures and acquired products that are milked for maintenance in India. Even by Valley ego standards, this CEO is atrocious which would be OK if he were Jobs or Ellison or Musk. He loves the sound of his voice so much that he will sit in any meeting and tell anybody rudely - engineer, accountant, sales, janitor - how to do his/her job. By the way I think he comes from Computer Associates. Surprise! The only people who stay are meek butt-kissers and that's never good for a business. I ignored warnings and Glassdoor reviews thinking they were written by disgruntled people from fat acquired companies who got fired. Sadly I was wrong and I am back actively talking to recruiters to get out. There are plenty of good, innovative software companies out there. Do your research and you'll run, not walk away to one of them.
