Pros

Although there is pressure to be in the office everyday, telecommuting is possible. Work location is nice. Plenty of Starbucks, K-cups. and Soda.

Cons

Youth oriented culture that is heavily preached from the highest levels. Short-sited thinking that younger workers are the only employees that should be appreciated. Touts being the best place to work but work-life balance is almost non-existent.

Pros

Pros are dwindling day by day under the CEO leadership. Open text used to be fiscally responsible, but now management just cuts to show a better bottom line.

Cons

Company wants to cut staff to show less losses, but cannot keep up with customer expecttions as it is. Wants to be a leader in cloud offerings at the expense of everything else and the CEO talks about being the best place to work. He doesn't even understand his culture, products or people, yet he has time to scrutinize resumes. He has created a huge culture of fear at Opentext, which is very counter productive.

In the business of acquiring and killing good companies

Pros

Benefits are OK Fairly stable employment There are still some very great people working here by some miracle. Some of which I would enjoy working with again.

Cons

This company deals in acquiring companies, living off the maintenance fees from their customers, then letting good technology die a slow death. There is nothing here to drive or motivate employees to better their products, improve customer experience, or anything that makes a job worthwhile.
