Pros

-Office space is nice -Folks in the AD and web department are really great to work with

Cons

-You can hear a pin drop in the office (no one talks or really even says good morning) -Trying to get management approval is like pulling teeth -There really is not flexibility - you work long hours. Some say you can work "remote" but that is really frowned upon.

Upper management is disconnected from employees

Pros

OpenText supposedly has a competitive compensation plan for its consultants. OpenText gives a number of paid holidays that increase over time.

Cons

Con 1: Even though they tell us we are entitled our vacation and should take it, it's against you to take it because it will negatively impact your utilization credit and therefore your bonus for the quarter. Therefore, vacation is more like borrowed time; if you take vacation you either make it up or lose potential bonus money. Con 2: No work/life balance. As a consultant you will be asked to work countless weekends and late nights. Many times it will be free work as the work you will do is not billable and won't go towards your compensation plan. Con 3: No recognition for work. No information passed down to employees about what goes on around the company. Even layoffs are kept secret and employees and even managers have to ask to see who is still around. Con 4: Not a great 401k plan. Con 5: This company puts more focus in acquiring other businesses rather than improving their own products.

"Where good software goes to die"

Pros

A lot of friendly people in multiple offices around the world. A good stepping stone to a more organized enterprise software company.

Cons

Horrendously disorganized. High turnover rate from upper management all the way down. Software is always a step behind competitors. Business units are not cohesive due to acquisitions.
