Pros

OpenText employees are some of the hardest working colleagues I've worked during my career. Most are very helpful and genuinely work to make the company successful. Most mid-level managers are willing to help your career through recommendations to open management positions or other areas within the company that might be of interest to you.

Cons

C-Level executives (CEO, CMO, and others) were incompetent during my tenure. The CEO (2024) was a micro-manager, getting involved with any decision over $20K. The culture was report, report, and more reports (weekly). I spent over 60% of my time doing reports, which made it hard to get anything done. Everything required approvals (all the way to the top). My role interacted with many of our C-level execs and they were basically yes-men followers (not leaders). The CEO was removed by the board about 9 months after I left, but I'm hearing from old co-workers that the company is still dealing with the fallout of the previous CEO.

Pros

very capable computer hardware provided to engineers, decent support for ordering new hardware tools, very good teamwork and camaraderie at my local branch, decent benefits

Cons

Like very publicly traded company, Opentext only cares about Y/Y growth for their shareholders, and will do anything to get it. Tons of bureaucratic processes with multiple levels of approvers, most of who know nothing about the request, when going through the traditional procurement process, even for purchases of relatively small values (<10k). Executive leadership deleted our entire fulfillment team (4 people) who had worked there for 10+ years to try and coalesce shipping at a single location without any forewarning or discussion with the stakeholders. Executive leadership does not care about you unless you produce something Cloud or AI.
