Pros

There used to be more here, but currently the only upside I see is flexibility in terms of getting to the office and leaving the office.

Cons

The main disadvantage in my case is the chaotic way the product is being managed, the gatekeeping that some tenured engineers do to parts of product, the endless number meetings that start with let's have a meeting to discuss x issue and that end without a conclusion. It used to be a place where you were encouraged to come up with new approaches and ideas, but currently it is better to bow your head and move along. Don't disturb the calm of the team.

Pros

Canadian culture is good, People generally friendly

Cons

100% in office 5 days a week required. Whiplash from changes in strategy and direction. ELT is in their own world, make decisions without understanding full details or consequences. Constant layoffs, at least 1-2 a year, every year. HORRIBLE benefits package in US and Canada. Low pay in Europe.
