Pros

Overall, the experience is good at OpenText and its subsidiaries if you have good direct management. There are no Pros here, it's just a job and good enough at that. Mainly commenting on Opentext company specifically. Diversity is getting better

Cons

- CEO against fully remote work - Health packages are well below industry average - Compensation below industry average - Culture WELL below industry average due to continuous acquisitions - Benefits and PTO below average - Promotion below average - Company hates spending money on their employees. STINGY would be a good word for this - Leadership at the C-level is alright. Mark and Muhi are the only one who provides a sense of vision and leadership, even then it's JUST their business vision that's great. They do not have the best interest in their employees and we are viewed as a corporate number. - You get your typical corporate experience

Pros

I'm left alone to do my job because immediate management is cool

Cons

CEO forces employees to listen to speakers that share his beliefs. Reverse racism, and one sided political and social views creates a pretty toxic work environment. The truth is none of this has any business being in the workplace and the board should know better and fire him. If you see people doing the least to collect their paychecks, I suspect this has something to do with it.

Pros

- Decent salary if negotiated correctly. - Can cruise if you’re a top performer. - Benefits are decent. - Tech portfolio is good but decays without investment.

Cons

- No long term investment in most of their tech. Especially for the smaller business units. - Constant hiring freezes and travel bans that are shortsighted - Have to get a competitive offer to get any significant pay increase. Very toxic. - Management will not tolerate self criticism and prefers to parade their accomplishments instead of fixing issues that are holding the company back. - Overbearing bureaucracy that wastes precious time. Strict approval process that requires simple approvals to go to the CEO. For instance, getting a Mac laptop or low margin approval go to Mark B.
