Thank you for your review and for painting a very comprehensive picture of working with OptionsCity. I am glad you included some of the recent developments like the move to our new Chicago office at Adams and Wacker and the YouEarnedIt Employee Recognition Program. One aspect of the benefits package that we are excited about is the 3-month fully-paid Sabbatical program after 8 years of service.
Thanks,
Victor
I have worked in different offices/fields and I have never experienced a culture quite like this one - it's awesome! Everyone enjoys what they do, but also takes the initiative to empower those around them to grow in their careers.
Cons
Though there is a clear line of communication within each department, the communication can become siloed. However, I've noticed that there are already great efforts to become more all-inclusive.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am glad that you feel that the culture at OptionsCity stands out versus others. Empowering the members of our team and ensuring that everybody continually learns and grows professionally are the keys to our success as an organization. As you mention, it is also crucial to continue to increase and improve the lines of communications between all groups and across all reporting levels.
Thanks,
Victor
OptionsCity is a place where I feel I have grown a lot from both a professional and personal level. We build options trading software and we solve some interesting and difficult technical challenges on a daily basis. There are many very smart people who push you to be better and from which I have learned a lot.
The company is not big and that leads to a number of good things, in my opinion. Everybody is expected to contribute in a meaningful fashion and there isn’t a lot of places to “hide.” There is opportunity to contribute in many ways outside of your “job description".
In general, the whole organization is made up of people that it are nice to work with and great to hang-out outside of work.
Cons
Because we are dealing with financial technology and cater to very demanding customers, the day can be stressful at times. Also, for the amount of work there is, I feel that the engineering team should be bigger.

Thank you for taking the time to provide some feedback. I am very glad that you have grown and developed on a professional level here at OptionsCity. I feel that one of the advantages OptionsCity offers, that others may not be able to, is the ability to learn a lot, grow and contribute across multiple areas of the company regardless of your "job description" as you put it.
While the nature of the financial industry may lead to a higher degree of stress then other industries, it is something that we are actively looking at and working on addressing. As you mentioned as well, we are a lean team, but hiring is one of my top priorities.
For any follow ups, you know where to find me.
Thanks,
Victor
