      Beware of Optum

      The salary and benefits are average

      The company is very unorganized. Management is horrible, and they turn on their staff. There is a very significant shortage of medical providers and ancillary staff because they all continue to quit. . . Optum has problems retaining their staff because of the way they are treated. . I would not recommend this company at all. I definitely without reservation state "BEWARE OF OPTUM, STAY AWAY"!. There are many other health care institutions and companies that treat their employees more respectful.

      Many fringe benefits, quality of life/ work culture emphasis, at least as a "spoken" value and online offerings and self help apps. Competitive salary.

      Cons

      Corporate culture. Feeling valued as an employee often depends on the Executive Director you work under. Very measurement based and a bit micro-managing even for long term performers and skilled folks. Actual problem solving of direct work issues tend to be shifted to "systems" and "policies" instead of authorizing people to be involved in self agency and a growth-mindset problem-solving role.

      Bad company to work with .Lot of corporate greed and management levels .There are lot of redundant management levels and this are the people who decides whom to keep and whom to let go
