Pros

Excellent compensation relative to experience and effort required. You get 14% commission on top of a small base pay. Typical salesmen sell about $30k per month, so you do the math. You get a newer car, gas, etc. Warm leads handed to you almost daily. Very laid back work environment with fun coworkers. You can make as much as you want to put into it, but with any effort, you will make $60k-$80k working only 30-40 hours per week.

Cons

Not many cons. Can’t have a beard or visible tattoos. The uniform (which Orkin is proud of) looks silly and makes you feel like you are in a costume. Randomly asked to work Saturday if the region isn’t hitting goals (even if you are hitting your personal goal).

Company truck, good benefits albeit expensive, guaranteed hours, meet some cool customers, paid training, good field to get into.

Cons

Biggest problem is definitely the pay. Talking to some friends who've left to go work for other companies Orkin definitely is paying less. According to my colleagues who've been here for a while they don't give out raises. Second biggest issue is the routing sucks. You can wake up to a full route and some how they add in several more stops that you will not make it too on time, now you have to deal with the repercussions as the customers get pissed you're late. Need to have better understanding of techs routes and schedule accordingly. If you cannot cover the extra work then don't take it on.
