Pros

Money was beautiful Meeting new faces was wonderful

Cons

office staff was not up to par. There is a lot of miscommunication and stress. You can work your butt off and it seems to never be enough.

We are disappointed that this was your experience with the company. Orkin has invested in technology to help the flow of services and communication to help with the demands of our service business. However, we always urge any employees that have concerns to address them with the location leaders timely (or region or division staff) so they can be addressed directly. A single mans job

Pros

Great coworkers Great money Getting to be outside of a building during the day.

Cons

Extraordinarily long hours, 12-15 hours a day. Little to no work/life balance. Don't dare take vacation time or you will be penalized for being unable to complete your work for the month. Harsh expectations come with this. Region only cares about numbers, not employees and this trickles down to the technician level. Near constant stress from this causes high employee turnover, leaving the branch perpetually short staffed leading to a dysfunctional and extremely demanding workplace.

Staffing has been a challenge recently and with unemployment rates at an all time low, finding qualified candidates continues to be a daunting task for our management teams. We recognize the amount of stress and time necessary to do quality service during our peak season and would like to first say “thank you” for your hard work and dedication as well as assure you we will continue to look more closely at staffing as well as areas we can improve through our Employee Satisfaction survey process as well as with local management to determine the best place to begin.

Pros

Co workers, some Branch Managers and Service Managers, Meeting new people and helping resolve their problem

Cons

Some Managers haveno Pest Control experience and do not respect veteran technicians and technician ideas and opinions, dictatorship and greed, management hate to see technicians make more money than them even though the CUSTOMER and TECHNICIANS are the reason everyone gets paid. Stop taking away from technicians and pay them they have Responsibilities TOO. Working 6 days a week and having one weekend of for years now. Ridiculous. Management get there 2 weekends off.
