Pros

They sometimes toss makeup your way…maybe to keep you quiet?

Cons

Wow, where to start…management will either micro manage you or throw you to the wolves. Everything is on fire. Their strategy is to throw something against the wall and hope it sticks. They’re laying off “higher” paid employees to only post a lesser title and salary weeks later. You will spend your entire day in meetings and have to work into the evening to get your work accomplished. Working here gives the vibe of the boss from the Devil Wears Prada mixed with Means Girls—talk about toxic. There isn’t enough free makeup to make it worth it.

Yes we’re an agile organization, moving fast and building something different to other beauty companies. As with many organizations, there are urgent priorities that sometimes require multiple meetings during one's regular day. We support the flexibility of our “hybrid first” policy to help integrate work and life. We also offer a competitive PTO package. We also measure all leaders though an annual culture and engagement survey.

Pros

the office is in a central location

Cons

Private equity run firm that acquired 3 brands. The sale was agreed that employees would stay on after takeover but that's what they would tell you. So they cut employees. Which is to be expected. EXCEPT Only to reopen and try rehiring for some of these roles later. Lost a lot of good talented people in the reorg process. Know in the corporate world, the business will only care about their profits and bottom line. So watch out for yourself.

We are constantly looking at our organization structure to best meet the needs of the business. Sometimes this requires us to make changes to our staffing which is never easy, and not taken lightly. We regret when we have to let Orveoners go, and we offer to support them in finding new roles.

Pros

I never went to the new office but location seemed good

Cons

Really hard to get a response from upper management, HR especially. Was tricked with a retention bonus to convey into this new company but then let go within 10 weeks. The company doesn’t fully feel formed. It felt “pretend”. Org charts weren’t in place, certain necessary programs weren’t. It just appeared messy.

Thank you for your comment. At the time of transition, the company was not fully formed, however, we are in the process of building our organization. Sometimes that means looking at the organization as a whole to make sure we are the right size and unfortunately employee impacts are sometimes a result of that. This is a decision we never take lightly.
