Pros

-Can work remotely for some positions

Cons

-If you live in CA, CO, MT, or NE and don't take any or much PTO throughout the year, you get a check for any hours over the 40 hour rollover. If you're in any other state, you're out of luck and you just lose it. I was forced to take roughly 120 hours of PTO in November and December 2020 knowing I was going to lose it, even though I still worked during my time off due to regulatory deadlines, but found out all of my coworkers (who are all in the states listed above) were getting a paycheck for their unused PTO. Not a fair policy at all. -ALL applicants have to be sent and approved by the CEO before they can be hired. I suggest staying away if you have the option. -Logic and common sense have no room here -You have an idea? Great! Throw it out the window because it'll fall on deaf ears and nothing will change. -You can send all the requests you want to upper management but you'll never get a response, unless it's for something they want of you. So, your requests will be ignored. -You can take on two jobs at once (due to COVID times) and excel at both of them, but will they realize that and compensate you fairly for it? No way. Just a pat on the back and a "thanks for saving us money."

We respect your position and experience at Advisor Group, and it’s frustrating for us that yours was not positive based upon your review. We are quite diligent to be compliant regarding PTO which legally varies by state in the US. Our CEO, Jamie Price, while quite involved in talent strategy, is not involved in reviewing all applicants as we trust the leaders across the organization to make talent decisions to support the business. Additionally, we implement numerous employee suggestions every year and continue to request “Bright Idea” submissions to improve our business and work environment. Employee feedback is paramount to how to make things better. We do expect great things from all of our employees and our workloads are heavy and complex at times. Strong performance is rewarded and ideas are valued. We have retained strong talent across the enterprise at every site, in every function and at every level as we build for a successful future to deliver the best for our financial professional network.

Pros

Great manager That’s really all I could think of.

Cons

Everything about this company is terrible. It’s the most micromanaged company I’ve ever worked for. They don’t value you. You get treated very poorly and like a child. Do not take a job here.

We absolutely appreciate your honesty, and I am thankful that you have manager you appreciate. We are building our operating mechanisms as a growing organization, so we understand how it could at times feel overly managed. Please have a transparent conversation with your manager or your HR Business Partner on ideas to promote autonomy as your insights are valued and necessary for our collective success.

Pros

Generous company: great benefits and very reasonable management. Strongly performance-driven culture... this is a place that rewards superstars. Fun coworkers... people are friendly and engaged and there's a sense of camaraderie. Most executive leadership is approachable and smart.

Cons

Odd titling/middle mgmt structure with lots of classifications between roles that makes it confusing to map a specific career path. Understaffing in some areas heightens frustrations company-wide. Constant fast pace sometimes leads to poor or non-existent strategy in favor of "anything goes" just to survive the sometimes enormous work volume.
