Pros
- Family-like office culture, with lots of friendly people - Free snacks and drinks, ping pong tournaments, xbox, tv watching parties - Potlocks, barbecues and lunches every quarter at the very least - The stack has some exciting components that make use of cool new tech - Cloud-based operations with little to no datacenter presence
Cons
This review comes a couple of years late, and I understand that much has changed since my departure, so take this with a grain of salt. Some major paint points at the time (c. 2017-2018) were: - Fragmentation of Markham office between Pixel and Brink with Pixel people feeling that they are not being respected even though they feel that they're bringing all the money in. - Fragmentation between US and Canadian operations with Canadians not feeling respected with regards to wages, raises and benefits. - Tech debt with not enough staff to address it (though I have heard that this has been focused on greatly, and addressed to a degree) As I've mentioned, much has changed since my days, with the company having shed (for the most part) one of its boat-anchor "divisions" and having transitioned to being a bit more nimble, and a true "tech" company, rather than a government contractor.
