Pros

- Gives you plenty of experience in IT - Decent benefits - Work from home opportunity - Flexibility with scheduling if something arises

Cons

- Slightly underpaid - Lack of promotional opportunity - Management permits too many people to avoid their responsibilities - If you are dependable, you can expect to take on the tasks of those who do not fulfill their responsibilities - Many gaps in the initial onboarding training lead to early employee resignations due to frustration - The grading rubric for determining yearly raises fails to compensate those who exceed expectations fairly - Lack of a clear list of job responsibilities (They'll add more work and say it's part of your job title even when it shouldn't be)

Pros

Decent pay, friendly people to work with, gets you experience in IT, working from home is always a plus. Had 1-on-1 counselor meetings to personally improve my performance on the job.

Cons

Very little training before throwing you into the job, way too busy to keep up with, will end up carrying 10x more work on your back than necessary to compensate. Few promotion opportunities, and feedback will not be taken into account to assist with the workload.

Pros

Nationwide travel (can be both positive and negative), ability to rack up a ton of flight miles/hotel points, opportunity to be a jack of all trades and see variety.

Cons

Pay is a few dollars less per hour than other companies in the industry. 6 day work weeks are expected frequently with travel happening on Sunday and Friday. Lack of a team, zero meetings or conversation with your fellow field engineers. Important changes in process will occur with zero communication, you find out by doing it incorrectly and then hearing about it from support at the end of the night. This lack of communication starts immediately even during training when I wasn’t even told a very necessary knowledge base existed until I found it on my own two months into my position. There is a basic level of communication seen throughout the industry that is missing here.

Pros

None, terrible experience from beginning to end.

Cons

Things here are very unorganized and needlessly complex and there's no training provided, mainly due to the fact that most people don't have a clear understanding of how to do things. Lots of toxicity with leadership & management, many clients are regularly unhappy due to our slow speed to resolving problems and you'd be under paid. My experience at PAR has been frustrating all the way through.

Pros

Unlimited PTO policy. Reliable salary cycle. Strong loyalty and rewards product offering. A few standout employees who’ve been part of the company since the start knowledgeable, and truly committed.

Cons

No real training or onboarding for new hires, you’re expected to figure things out on your own. Offshore team is poorly managed and communicates in a disrespectful way/tone. Client-facing teams get little to no support from offshore, and management overlook it. Company values sound good in slides but don’t show up in daily work. Layoffs happen randomly creating mental imbalance. Documentation is average, but full of ambiguity. Only a few people actually know how things work, and they’re overworked and undervalued. No central tool to manage projects, engineering, or support; everything feels scattered. A lot of talk about AI and innovation, but nothing that helps in real daily work

Pros

There are seldom days every other week when the work schedule will have some downtime.

Cons

In exchange for seldom downtime, field techs are committed to 12 day work shifts, on call from 6am until midnight. PAR does a great job of overly committing their employees into their job title with little to no room for work life balance. The lack of a training program and inconsistent work policies also create more disruption than synchronicity. Management's attitude towards these challenges have taken more of a 'whatever it takes' approach, causing the company to be more reactive than it appears. It shows in how they communicate.

Pros

Nice people to work with.

Cons

No official training for the role whatsoever. Expectations do not align with knowledge and guidance provided by management. No support.
