Pros

The dining area and random free food brought in sometimes. The lax dress code. The paid "training".

Cons

The people. There is micromanagement to the point of harassment, you are written up for the tiniest of things, your coworkers seem to be trying their best to report you for anything and everything (like do they get a cookie for this or what??), being even 2 minutes late can get you written up, they don't actually care if you "go above and beyond" for the customer, they give you basically no training or resources so your actual job is just asking everyone stuff in chat, you will be yelled at by customers frequently, the phone system they use is actually broken but they refuse to listen, and if you put in your 2 weeks notice they are most likely to fire you a day or 2 later. There are multiple people there that are VERY depressed because of this job, sometimes they even break down at work. I wanted to help customers and 99% of my job was getting yelled at while waiting for information in chat on what to do next, many times everyone ignoring the information I already included. Also they speak of growth but seem to only try to hold you back (I've heard the same from others) and you can only apparently go up 1 level if they ever let you. If you try to work here...good luck... and be ready to be fired because they probably won't let you just leave. They will also say you can fill out an exit survey but then forbid you from doing so.

Great Company with Room for Growth

Pros

One of the things I appreciate about working at Par Technology is the room for growth. The company provides ample opportunities for career development and advancement, with regular training programs and mentorship opportunities. I feel like I'm constantly learning new skills and expanding my knowledge base, which is really fulfilling. Another great thing about Par Technology is the emphasis on work-life balance. Management understands that their employees have lives outside of work, and they make an effort to accommodate our schedules and allow for flexibility.

Cons

The workload can be heavy at times, which can be stressful, and there are occasional communication issues between departments. However, overall, I feel like the pros outweigh the cons.

Pros

PAR is a great place to work. I've been here almost five years and I have to say the best thing about PAR is the people. They have become like family to me and I've built many great friendships in my time here. Everyone is always willing to help you out.

Cons

The company is going through a big transition right now, from a corporate culture standpoint and from a systems standpoint. There is still much to be improved upon, but PAR knows that and is actively trying to improve - management trainings, culture committees, improved communications and transparency are just some of the ways PAR is trying to tackle it's areas for improvement.

Lack of structure, lack of appreciation

Pros

This company is a great exposure to the SaaS industry. There are a variety of roles within the company that will surely be your fit. There are many unique personalities in the company, as well as leaders who have decades of experience and knowledge you can learn and gain from. In short, a great foot in the door. Just be-careful not to settle for comfort and settle for less.

Cons

There was a lack of structure, lack of training, and lack of good leadership. Maybe depending on the team you come onto, but there were little to no training provided in the on-boarding process. There were little to no check-ins from management above. The time was spent more on putting out fire versus creating a long-term solution. Appreciation is not equally shared amongst all the offices. Spend more time hiring roles they do not need versus focusing on how the roles that exist can do more to make a difference.

Pros

Great company working hard on it's culture to support it's customers, employees, shareholders, vendors and communities. PAR is investing heavily in new technology to move the company forward as well as in incredible training and educational opportunities for employees.

Cons

401K Match is light but we are told this is an important improvement that the executive team is focusing on.
