Great Starting Job

Pros

The benefits are good, but the medical has a high copay. The people you work with can be really nice and depending on your position the work isn't that bad. The pay, also depending on what position you take.

Cons

The art department is treated as a secondary necessity. You're going to want to leave after a year. The art department is expected to perform multiple jobs that make a higher pay grade than what you originally applied for. Moving up in the company is incredibly difficult. They don't exactly encourage personal growth. If you want the artist position in the art department, you have to work the 3-11PM shift.

Pros

On site cafeteria. Sometimes they buy food. Casual dress. Can listen to music. Supervisors are friendly. Sometimes they have raffles. Theyre willing to give someone with little or no experience training and a chance to prove themselves.

Cons

If you want a life dont work here in this position. They force a ton of mandatory over time on us. Most times when your first getting out on the floor you get the lovely shift if 1pm to 9pm or 3pm to 12am. The workload is fine at first but slowly grows. Management takes advantage of people who perform well by loading more and more responsibility (without a pay raise for the extra reaponsibilities) until it breaks you. The environment is bad, its like high school politics. There is no work life balance. You are not compensated appropriately for the amount of work you perform. There is hardly communication between departments which leads to confusion and complications such as miscommunicating to a customer. The systems are archaic. Management doesnt know much about the job theyre supervising. There are guidelines youre supposed to follow--but youre told to not follow them because "everythings a shade of gray" and then punished if something goes wrong because you didnt follow the guidelines. The parking is horrible, especially if you dont come in at 8 in the morning. Once youre in a position youre good at they become dependant on you and keep you there. Most customers and coworkers are unprofessional. Working here will affect your happiness. If you are desperate for a job work here until you can find a better opportunity. But be careful--once this company has you, they dont easily let go.
