1. Let’s start off with the CEO. He is VERY disconnected from the day-to-day business and has very little understanding of the current state of everything going on. He tends to not think before he speaks, and offers no relevant feedback besides outright complaining about things he has no clue about. The only things he actually puts effort into is traveling, photo ops for LinkedIn, and promoting his new book. Oh, and also bragging about his private jet and trips, while the whole company has their 401k matches slashed in half, work-from-home days reduced, and annual 3% raises held over their heads for half a year until layoffs were completed
2. When things go wrong, fingers are pointed, people are laid off and things continue down the same path with no changes. The only way to avoid being blamed is to be one of his son’s, or to be one of his close friends, as he is VERY loyal to his friends… until you do something to annoy him and then, even his friends aren’t safe. There have been mass layoffs month after month for the last year or so
3. They opened a bunch of new branches, hired a bunch of sales reps with little to no experience, barely trained them and then turned around a year or two later and wondered why they weren’t successful
4. THE PEOPLE IN CHARGE HERE DO NOT WANT TO WORK. Read that again
5. As for the rest of the business, the lack of accountability is absolutely terrible across the board. There are only a few good apples in each department, and those are typically the ones responsible for all of the work and often become the ones that are blamed when things go wrong
6. I can’t begin to imagine the hiring criteria due to some of the people that they hire. The bar is VERY low here. Very low. If you just want to be a button pusher, not grow your career and collect an underwhelming paycheck, then this is the place for you
7. You aren’t family at PEI, you are a number. This has been proven time and time again by the company. They offer no flexibility with wfh days besides the 1 day that you are allotted per week. If you are sick on a day that is not your WFH day, you are expected to either take PTO or Sick time, or come in to work sick, as they will not let you WFH, even if you are a proven and committed employee. They also decided to bring us back in 4 days a week instead of the 3/2 model that was around since Covid. When someone questioned that publicly, they were immediately let go the same week
8. All in all, this company is terrible place to work. If you truly care about your career, then you don’t want to work for PEI. There are weekly emails asking people to stop rubbing boogers on the walls or asking people to flush toilets and to take their dog’s poop bags outside instead of leaving them in the office. There is a reason why every review is negative on here. Egos run the show here
