Pros

All things considered, you will meet some very hardworking people, non-management to be specific, across departments. Good for entry level work.

Cons

Poor/disruptive management, low employee moral, sub par compensation, glass ceiling, no upward mobility, most of management is not degreed (if that matters to you). That is just a snapshot of PenFed. Overall, the change in management has been disruptive to say the least for certain departments. Those who do minimal work are highly rewarded. For those who work hard, there is no recognition, verbal or otherwise. PenFed has seem to forgot that there are certain laws to protect employees in which this new management is not privy to. Items such as HIPPA and EEO are foreign to this company. Employees are run to the ground and are expected to do the jobs of an entire department. PenFed seriously lacks a work-life balance which can put a strain on internal and external relationships. The systems are antiquated and the company lacks the necessities to provide a positive experience for new employees. PenFed is a revolving door and there is constant change in management which gets old after the first three bosses. Don't get me wrong, there are some good people there who will keep you from jumping off the nearest cliff. If you value your self worth, peace of mind, and your education, work somewhere else. Don't waste your time on a company who will not appreciate your gifts and talents in the long run.

Zero regard for staff

Pros

This could be a really great place for people to start their careers as there is a variety of opportunities to grow, but management rarely nurtures that growth.

Cons

Constantly in fire drill mode. Everything is a crisis according to Executive leadership. My department was berated regularly (and sometimes publicly) by leadership and treated like cattle. Staying late was not a question, it was expected, regardless of personal commitments (like picking up your children...). Way too many 12+ hour days. Due to several staff resigning, I was assigned two addition jobs' worth of responsibilities with no compensation. Everyone was expected to be on-call all the time because management chose to work all hours of the night. Benefits are a joke: virtually no time off and health insurance doesn't cover much.
