"People First" but Actions Say Otherwise

Pros

- Talented and passionate colleagues who genuinely want to deliver great work product. - Opportunities to learn and grow if you’re proactive and self-driven. - Exposure to high-profile projects and clients that can build your resume. *** Note: You can find these things at many other companies.

Cons

- Leadership often says one thing and does another. Values like “people first” are not reflected in practice. - Company culture glorifies overwork. Evenings and weekends are expected year-round, not just during “busy season.” - Performance reviews and raises are inconsistent and arbitrary. - Exceptional work is considered “meeting expectations.” - Toxic atmosphere fueled by gaslighting, yelling, and high-school-style politics from the top down. - Curiosity is discouraged. Asking strategic questions can lead to defensiveness from leadership and a target on your back. - Leadership uses information as power and avoids resolving conflicts among themselves maturely. Employees become collateral damage. A safe environment to challenge each other respectfully is not fostered from the CEO down.

I’m also sorry to hear that parts of your experience didn’t reflect the culture we strive for. That matters to me. I care deeply about how our values show up in practice, not just words. When someone shares feedback like this, I take it seriously. I’ve shared your comments with our leadership team, and I welcome any opportunity to learn more. If you’re open to it, feel free to reach out to me directly. Thank you again for everything you contributed to PMG. Stacey Martin stacey.martin@pmg.com Chief People Officer

Toxic SEO team

Pros

A few genuinely friendly colleagues and remote working opportunities.

Cons

I’ve never been treated as poorly as I was by this SEO team. On the surface, everything looks happy and friendly. They hire “quirky, cool” people and promote a family-like culture where everyone is encouraged to share their eccentricity. But this is just toxic positivity. The company champions diversity and mental health, but in practice, neurodiversity is an inconvenience. Time and again, talented people, mainly those with foreign names the line managers couldn’t ever spell correctly, failed to pass probation. When concerns about leadership are raised, the response isn’t reflection or improvement; instead, you’re quietly pushed out under false pretences. Beneath the branding is something dark and unsettling. They make you feel unstable and vulnerable at work, and that vulnerability is weaponised. If they notice you have a good relationship with a colleague, they’ll use that colleague to get to you. Information is deliberately withheld. Your work is undermined behind closed doors. Speaking up only paints a bigger target on your back, and HR will align with them, not with you. They don’t confront you with genuine care about how you’re feeling. They erode you slowly, chipping away at your confidence until you start doubting yourself and doing the emotional labour for them. It will affect your work and mental health negatively. If you consider applying here, do it with caution.
