Pros

Benefits and salary seems to be competitive other than that it is a short term company to work.

Cons

If you work in the retail bank you are in constant fear of job loss. All about the numbers not much about the customer or the employee. Not really anywhere to go in the company you can move from branch to branch but, not much chance of moving up or into a new line of business. Most upper management on the regional level and market level are not very honest with the persons that work below them. More talk but, no substance behind what they say. You can work hard and meet or exceed your goals, have the best attitude but, never be promoted or even have the option of a review. Even when you apply within the company not based on employees record or even attitude you will still not get ahead. You always have the option to discuss other opportunities but, they don't exsist for the most of the employees. If you don't care about moving up and learning more then it is the place to be but, if you want growth and honesty then it is not the place to be. There are many long term employees but, there is know even way of managing one region can be great and the next terrible. Management treatment varies a great deal from the retail banking to other lines of business. All about the sales and numbers I suppose that is what banking is about. They seem to be missing a great deal of opportunity to have really great employees and more dedicated customers. It seems that one of the reasons that the country is having this financial crisis is that all retail banking employees working some form of commission and you end up having many great employees not doing what's right for the customer or the bank just for a few extra dollars in their pay checks. Commision and banking don't mix you end up with a great deal of bad behavior from regional managers down to the tellers.

Pros

Smaller super regional bank management is more accessible than in big corporations. Bank not in trouble like some of the bigger competitors Training and attention to detail of facilitators The company always wants to promote from within.

Cons

Compensation is less compared to other banks Some people in management shouldn't be in management the culture of promoting from within could be a cause some people are promoted based on time on the job not necessarily skills. Corporate recruiters are rude to and tend not to call people back and you need to stay on top of them. Have been known not get back to candidates they feel are unqualified.
