Pros

By far the best health club in Washington! It is extremely clean and offers a wide variety of amenities. Employees are genuinely happy to come to work and enjoy their jobs which creates a pleasant work environment. I can't say enough good things about working here! Lifeguards and swim instructors have a competitive pay scale with opportunities for raises. Occasionally there are sign-on bonuses and/or a bonus for referring a new employee. Aquatics management has an open door policy and is receptive to to concerns/ideas. The training process is well-rounded and sets the new employee up to succeed with all of the knowledge needed. The group of employees working in Aquatics is large so it is often not difficult to find coverage for a shift, even with short notice. Swim lessons are in high demand so there is no shortage of appointments to be booked - many instructors have full schedules. Full and part-time employees have excellent benefits such as an on-call doctors, discounted physical therapy and medical massage, free gym membership, competitive medical and dental benefits, discounts on services throughout the club, and many more.

Cons

Strict image guidelines such no visible tattoos, limited piercings, uniform requirements, etc. (not a Con personally but may be for some individuals). Discounts on childcare/preschool are not fantastic. Employees still have to pay for some of the workout/group fitness options - not every class is free for employees (although they are discounted from what the members pay). Chiropractic is not covered in medical benefits for full time employees and maternity leave benefits are lacking in comparison to other companies of this size.

Pros

Fre gym membership, discounts throughout the club

Cons

Long hours. Constant turnover. Lack of communication. No vacation days until after one year of employment. Sick hours start adding up after 6 months with only 3 hours every pay period. You're always working so almost always too tired to use the gym. Constant schedule changes due to high turnover.

Pros

They really worked with my schedule. On location sick call. Really nice Holiday party. Free membership to the club for employee only, half price child care for employees (should be free, imo)

Cons

Second class treatment of some areas of employment, monthly meetings touting benefits for employees, but those were only for full time employees so if you were part time, they couldn't care less. Child care is expensive and since the pay their teachers so little especially if they are part time you are basically working to pay for your children to attend the child care, or just enough that you are stuck working there because you can't afford childcare else where. The food options they have for the kids is bland and not the healthiest, the buttered pasta is swimming in butter most of the time. The kids have zero outdoor space to play in but do get a chance once and a while to go play at a nearby park, if they are part of a camp or preschool class (which costs extra) zero paid parental leave. This company touts health and family but feed the kids bland poor quality goods give them little to no outdoor play time and won't give paid parental leave, which all seems hypocritical to me.
