Pros

This review is only for the Allen Park,MI location. (Previously Southgate,MI) Good environment. Co-workers are friendly. Tuition Assistance and degree completion bonus is nice. Job allows you to develop customer relation and communication skills. Good part time job or for students while they are in college. Pay is fair compared to similar jobs in the area. Job is easy to learn specially if you have customer service experience. Use your time there as a stepping stone to advance your career and get free tuition.

Cons

Getting a nice schedule is rare, you will have to work at least 1 weekend day. I was lucky to have a Mon-Fri schedule but it is almost impossible now for new employees. Working holidays is mandatory. Non-stop calls for 8 hours or more can get annoying. You will end up imagining the "incoming call beep" when you're falling asleep. Career opportunities are non-existent since 99% of the time when they post a position HR\Management has already picked who is going to get it. From personal experience, while I was there I applied to 2 positions, I had relevant experience, college degree, and they gave them to someone with NO experience, NO education, and the individuals couldn't even spell properly. If you get hired in, just use it for experience to pad your resume then leave ASAP. Allen Park is one of their satellite offices that they won't invest much in, since their real money makers are in Florida and Phoenix. Do not think this is a job that you can turn into a career with effort, it is a dead end. Even Supervisors are underpaid, and they still have to work weekends .

Pros

The company was founded on cooperative principles and it has a 'heart.' The employees are driven and committed to helping their credit unions succeed.

Cons

The company leadership changed and I think lost its way for a bit. There is new management at the top now, and I think this will make a big difference in both employee and client satisfaction.

Pros

+ Serious emphasis on health and wellness. + Very simple tasks; if you can follow a script you can succeed. + Training team is very understanding and does their best to get you ready with what they're given. + Very thorough on their rules and regulations. + Provides as much as it can to make the employee comfortable (even though that isn't enough when you compare/contrast the workload - see Cons).

Cons

- Work/Life balance exists, but when you come to work you come to work and nothing more. - Usual call center culture; keep your nose to your keyboard and bring in the #'s. - 30 minute lunch breaks do not balance out the over-sized workload of ~150 cph. - Benefits are sub-par compared to the other companies in the area. - About 50-60% of employees still miss the former CEO. This one is very rarely found even on his own turf. - Overall seems to benefit those with a Bachelor's more than the call center usual. - Lots and lots of bread and circus tactics and entitlement ("we gave you the job and A, B & C"). - Supervisors seem generally disconnected from their employees and usually do not have the answers for menial questions (e.g. "what affects my cph? my att?). - High attrition leading to mass hiring leading to the usual problems that come with sudden growth (disorganization, lack of information).
