Great benefits, poor people management

Pros

PTC Therapeutics is a company that has competitive salaries and benefits for my position, which is something difficult to find in the market. The company also helped me with my professional growth, providing to me the best practices to achieve my goals. Lastly, the company is multicultural, so I had the chancel to learn a little bit Portuguese as a second foreign language (English is first). My manager was a woman, and she was nice and kind to me.

Cons

Managers normally don't have time for their people, and this situation creates abandon, demotivation, and lack of interest to share our thoughts; time makes everything possible. Otherwise, it doesn't. The second situation is job harassment because some managers (not from my area) or people with higher positions, always tried to bully anyone else, just if you just were not agree with their leadership. Thirdly, some managers were focused to blame their team instead of investing in their professional growth (soft and hard skills).

The work isn’t difficult if you are given sufficient time

Cons

There is toxic culture of people putting their subordinates down and getting angry with them, gaslighting them, the CEO puts unrealistic timeline which cause people to overwork themselves and when complain to the manager the manager gaslights you. They do not care about employee well being and fail to realize that by overworking employees to the point where they are tired and unhealthy they will make mistakes that will cost the company and it’s patients in the long run. They mismanage funds also
