Get out before you are to exhausted to find another job
Pros
Not much to delight in at Pace - some nice coworkers. Decent equipment - lab recently redesigned - some areas better set up than others. Software does a nice job of tracking from sample receiving to customer - but is cunbersome and slow.
Cons
Management picks favorites - seems out of touch with their workers - barks orders but doesn't lift a finger to help out. There is absolutely no attempt to make sure that they run an ethical lab - quality was poor - long term employees even have a word for data validation that is pretty much just send it through. Upper levlel and corporate management are just dishonest, make promises they don't keep and decisions they dont support or even deny. A few coworkers say terrible things about others - managers just look the other way - so the drama goes on. Short staffed so people don't always have time to do it right, long long hours - expect OT forever and no outside life. Some benefits OK but not medical or 401K (well below national avg company match). Terrible Safety. An amazing number of employees never take vacation time - accruing 2 or more years worth thinking it will get better. Communication very poor - can't ever get a straight answer - managers indecisive. Doesn't really seem to care that clients are getting the service they expect, and then don't seem to understand why they lose them. Data systems in serious need of upgrade - but are controlled by corporate so lab is stuck.
