Pros

The Technical Support team was amazing. Consistently great mid-level managers who actually cared about your career. Company events were fun and usually included a volunteering event. Pay was great.

Cons

As soon as the company reached profitable, they did major layoffs. Not a good look. They replaced the North America Technical Support Specialists with folks from Chile and Argentina (who are delightful people; we got to help train our replacements and it wasn't their fault they were replacing us). Not enough time or support for professional learning opportunities, since being understaffed was kind of the norm. Lots of meetings that could have been emails.

Pros

The culture is great because employee follow all the culture values! And there are kind people at the company

Cons

-Layoffs will kill the culture. Employees are worried their jobs will be eliminated and moved to different countries. - Diversity will be affected by layoffs. Women and minorities are affected - Performance is not a factor in layoffs (It can happen at anytime and to anyone) -Career growth is limited and only for a small group of people. New job openings are only for outside candidates.

Thank you for taking the time to share your valuable insights and perspective from your experience. We strive to create a culture where our values form the foundation of how we operate and interact with one another. Our people are what make our organization truly exceptional, and we are grateful to have kind and compassionate individuals on our team. We understand that the recent layoffs were a difficult decision driven by macro-economic factors, and we want to assure you that the company carefully considered the impact to affected employees and provided resources and support for those affected. As we navigate through these challenging times, we remain committed to enhancing our employee development initiatives through various programs that promote career growth and mobility. In addition, we will soon launch a new internal jobs page that will increase visibility and accessibility to all careers at PagerDuty, with a specific focus on supporting our existing, in-house talent. Thank you again for your feedback, which we greatly appreciate. We will carefully consider it as we move forward, continuing to prioritize our values and our commitment to the organization.

Pros

- So many amazing customers to meet and work with - The product has a ton of opportunity to grow and change so you have plenty of places to make an impact - there are tons of community groups (parenting groups, interest in gardening, several strong employee resource groups) - design to be distributed allows for work flexibility

Cons

The organization is at a massive inflection point of scale that hasn't quite gotten sorted out. There are still practices from when the company was < 300 people that folks hold on to, in stark and uncomfortable contrast with some new high-touch and high overhead processes befitting a much larger organization
