The people hired here are nothing short of fun, good spirited, passionate, and talented. The work is fun and I gained so much experience teaching in a classroom and outdoor setting. I am so grateful for the support I received from the admin staff about personal goals and teaching advice. The location in the San Bernardino mountains is beautiful and housing is included. Every weekend was an adventure either surfing, climbing, camping, mountain biking, or hanging out at a staff house - there was always something fun to do.

At Pali Institute you get to work with a lot of people from places all over the country. As an instructor you also get to work with a lot of kids from Southern California. Being an instructor allowed me to be confident leading kids in and out of the classroom. This is a big program that expects a lot from you as an instructor. This was a positive for me because it forced me to rise to the challenge of talking on the "counselor role" day in and day out. I can honestly say after being an instructor that I worked with students from many different backgrounds and with many different learning styles and needs. Being a bigger program you have to be willing to adapt to schedule changes and be spontaneous. You will work outside in the sun, snow, and rain. For me the biggest pro was working with and living with the other instructors. There was always a group of people to adventure with and learn from.
