Pros

If you live in Antelope Valley, CA and do not want to put up with the traffic to and from Los Angeles, it's an option.

Cons

It is a for profit hospital and it is very apparent that it is a for profit hospital. Go in with that mindset and there should really be no surprises.

Great people to work with, staff is friendly and kind to others, good equipment, train staff well, Nice clean modern facility, great opportunity for new grads to gain experience.

Cons

Pay is very low even with pay increase there the lowest paying hospital in LA County, Few opportunities to learn more and gain further experience. Regardless of your experience level in nursing they offer few opportunities to grow further, mgmt only promotes and recognizes employees who have been with the company for over a decade in live in the AV area and all know each other, No resource staff at all no CNAs no support staff you will be the only staff available to help your patients, hospital takes advantage of AV residents who don’t want to travel outside AV area for nursing jobs. Health benefits premiums are very high PPO plan rip off high premium over $150 biweekly and you will still pay 25% of cost to $5000 plus $600 deductible. A simple dr visit could run you $100s. Always understaffed low morale, charge nurses don’t assist nursing staff
