Pros

People first mentality and a leadership team that truly cares. Non-corporate environment with great benefits for a small company.

Cons

It's an 20 year old startup that is scaling and that comes with it's own set of challenges.

Pros

- Get to work for an environmentally and socially-conscious company. 4 weeks of vacation to start, extra week of vacation for every 5 years you stay. Hybrid Remote working (mostly remote, but there are a couple team days in the office each week). Extremely supportive and understanding managers that genuinely care about their people. People that bring a positive outlook and distinguish themselves usually get promoted or create their own positions.

Cons

Management works hard to get people's opinions and build consensus before making any changes, the flip side to this is that sometimes it feels like we could be a little more decisive. HQ is in Melbourne, Australia so the Portland office feels a little disconnected sometimes. Many roles are Melbourne-only, so there are not that many change jobs in the US. The result is that most people in regional offices have been doing the exact same job for the past 5-7 years.

Thank you for your review, I am so pleased to hear you’re enjoying your time at PaperCut. We’ve been working hard over the course of 2022/23 to establish the right level of leadership to support faster and more effective decision-making. As we become more comfortable with our company strategy and our roadmap, I’m hopeful those leaders will feel more empowered to be more decisive. I can appreciate how that is likely to impact our PaperCutters’ experience. Global connection and mobility are personal passions of mine and I’ve had a number of conversations with the Talent team on how we can improve in that space over the coming months. I got a chance in my early career to work overseas and it shaped me a lot. I developed a global view, and passion for new areas. I want to continue to offer this to others where we can, and where it makes sense in terms of a win-win for all involved. Keep me posted if you have any more feedback in this area. - Chris
