Great company with an actual business model

Pros

- people pay real money for the product - there is a direct relationship between what you work on every day and the company's bottom line rather than the latter being driven by ads or selling data. One of very few tech companies in NYC I respect for that reason. - the culture is a far cry from the typical tech bro brand of toxic masculinity. - good team with truly exceptional designers and product-focused engineers - tech team follows "best tool for the job" and there's very little premature scaling or needlessly complex architectures - founders are passionate but willing to weigh evidence and change their minds - good compensation, benefits. HR team actually focuses on culture and people, not simply recruiting + aspirational lip service.

Cons

- some growing pains like most startups of its size (but not at all corporate or inflexible). - some people who are part of the original guard didn't grow with the company and left - managers need more experience and to be held more accountable

Pros

-very smart people -well run company with the right priorities -people create our product and so they are our business-- they care a lot about the people. -passion for a product that has real utility and that users really connect with -fast paced envt.

Cons

Nothing that comes to mind right now. The company is growing and so there are changes in structure, as with any company that is growing, but the company has been impressive in the way that people and culture are top of mind throughout these changes.

Pros

- elegant designs and interesting partnerships - loyal customers/users - values self-expression both for users and employees - work life balance, especially compared to other NY startups - recognizing flaws and looking to fix them - shifting to going back to the "startup" days with more working across teams (vs. in silos) - new focus will allow for bigger opportunities for both the product/platform and the employees - leadership has become open to more feedback and have been asking for it more frequently and from all employees

Cons

- going through major changes right now, in strategy and structure, which can feel confusing at times and lead to some anxiety - recent layoff led to a morale dip, and we are trying to start the new chapter with greater alignment but won't be an easy shift, especially given the family feel of the culture - product and engineering haven't worked smoothly in the past with other teams but moving towards working together better
