Wannabe Microsoft, stuck in the 90's software company mentality
Pros
Flexible working/remote options, decent health insurance, small 401k match, some down-to-earth coworkers, frequent promotions for go-getters, occasional parties/happy hour, stocked kitchen for snacks and breakfast
Cons
Below average salary for US employees (who aren't former Microsoft), offices based in Renton, no investment in infrastructure so all projects take a long time and have to be started from scratch, most projects fizzle out or lose steam because of constant redirection/randomization from senior leadership, CEO likes to provide uninformed guidance, the company brand has no sense of humor/tries to base it's persona on a stale/serious corporate image stuck in the past (think Microsoft again) rather than keeping up with the current trend in tech of valuing individual contribution and *fun* innovation.
