Pros

Really great culture and a state of the art building.

Cons

There is no loyalty and they are constantly laying good folks off.

Bureaucratic, not always run by strong leaders

Pros

CNET culture of mature internet startup means decent quality of life--good health care, benefits, some perks.

Cons

Structure is often full of red tape and vetting new ideas can be difficult to impossible. Many of the best leaders left years ago and the company has seen replacements that just can't fill the shoes of the better leaders of years gone by.

Pros

You'll work with the best in the business, gain valuable experience, learn how to manage others, and work in a hands-on, always-on-the-go environment. The Lodge is pretty rad, too. Dress code: No one cares. Wear whatever you want.

Cons

MTV is adverse to hiring staff employees; everyone is contract or full-time/freelance, which, unfortunately, comes with few benefits. They also don't really value a work-life balance. VERY fast-paced environment -- no slow days. Can be exhausting. Can also be a cliquey place to work.
