I found my career home...

Pros

The best parts of Pariveda are the people, the culture, the focus and caring for their employees! Many companies *say* they focus on their employees - Pariveda actually follows through. The career path and emphasis on getting the right people starts at the beginning of the interview process. While the process to get hired is lengthy, it ensures that the employee is a match for the company and the company is a harmonious fit for the employee too. Everyone is welcoming, happy to introduce and shepherd you along your new-hire experience. I'm an "old" manager - did consulting in the late 90's, moved to a corporate tech position for a while, did consulting outside of corporate America, owned a small business - I've got lots of experience that made it hard for companies to figure out "what to do with me" - Pariveda has given me the opportunity to take my 25 years of work experience and bring it all to the table. I have found my career home and look forward to a long and exciting (and varied) career with Pariveda. The company also takes on very specific clients - they don't say yes to every project and every company. I love that they make sure the client company is a fit with our culture and focus.

Cons

There is a lot of vocabulary that is new to me and seems unique to Pariveda. We need a lexicon with terms, acronyms, and definitions to help decode what some of their key words mean. Some of the words are common words but their meaning is slightly different at Pariveda. (i.e. capability, point of view) While the company is very much "not-centralized" - it can be a challenge to figure out how to get connected to some of the different interest groups. Some groups are open to everyone joining, some are closed to just team members actively working on billable projects in that focus area. I was able to just be a bit aggressive and reach out to people but I can see that it would be hard for some who are a bit more timid as they figure out the lay of the land.

Pros

Experience in a vast array of tech, industries, and roles. Pariveda offers positions to grow employees (called "fins") without burning them out. Especially in smaller markets, theres lots of opportunity to assist with office operations as a manager - thought not required. Over 6 years, Pariveda has built me into a high-powered professional and has given me career experience I dont think I could have gotten anywhere else. Many offices are still hybrid working model and only require in person attendance on occasion.

Cons

Salary compensation is often less here than other firms (especially in west coast markets), but you WILL have a positive working environment WITH a management team that cares about you as a person (instead of just a "resource") Dont be afraid to make your own career path here. Theres many VPs that have built expertise around sales, technologies, product, and industries. Find your passion and make it known, or else youll be positioned where theres the most need.

Pros

--- Post-college community and growth --- Personally, I was worried about landing in a job where I would just stagnate doing the same thing over and over again. Not the case at Pariveda! You will always be pushed to continue growing your skillsets, both technical and personal, as you follow the career path (and switch clients). Pay increases with the promotions. There are regular influxes of new college hires and the Dallas office has plenty of events facilitated to let you get to know coworkers and make friends. --- Commitment to transparency --- This is one of the few places I've heard of with a completely transparent salary structure. You know exactly what everyone in the company is making. Transparency takes on other forms as well, such as knowing what is required for promotion and regular updates from/interactions with leadership. --- Work-life balance --- Though there are occasional exceptions (by this I mean a handful of times over 4 years), employees are not expected to work more than 40 hours a week. This includes industries where the clients are used to their employees working 60+ hour workweeks.

Cons

--- Not a place to stay in one role indefinitely --- If you find yourself really loving a client or particular role, you won't be able to stay there forever with Pariveda. Typically people rotate off a client once they've been there for more than 1.5-2 years. Similarly, the growth mindset encourages you to try new roles and leave old ones.
