Pros

Management is amazing. The work load isn't killer. The pay isn't bad either and management truly wants you to advance in the PM field and will help you achieve it. The company PM field is new so we are able to grow with it and implement our own process as we go. I am coming from a bigger bank and bringing new ideas to the small bank.

Cons

Head quarters in a small town. The company is behind in IT and has a lot of their items still in paper when it should be online. The company is implementing things in place to catch up and better the bank.

Pros

I gained experience in my field and met some new colleagues. This company has great potential but does not capitalize on it. I am leaving with the knowledge of how not to manage and run an IT infrastructure.

Cons

Well not sure where to start here. The salary was 1/3 of what is expected in the Infosec field. When I did move on in 2013, I tripled my salary literally overnight. The politics here are absolutely horrible. They promote based on who you are rather than job knowledge or experience. It is a very "cliquey" type of workplace. Many joked that it was a "cult" of sorts, and this honestly is not far from the truth. They expect three times the work for three times less pay. You do not tell them no, or the "private closed door meetings" and probationary periods will certainly begin. I watched them attempt to oust several people in this fashion during my employment. The lucky ones got out and moved on to better opportunities before there was a paper trail large enough to terminate them. This happened to several colleagues during my time here. The health benefits were so bad that many chose to opt out. The vast majority of management is extremely out of touch with their employees, and many are simply only out for their own advancement within the company. Many members of management were also under-qualified for their positions, or quite honestly did not have a clue. They were promoted due to who they are within the organization. They believe first and foremost in saving money at the expense of good, experience staff and cheap security tools. This logic will not serve them well in the years to come. I know it seems like I am bitter and nasty, but believe me when I say I did not know that any respectable IT outfit could be this horrible to work for in today's highly competitive market. It was too easy to move on to another employer with less than half of the stress, three times the salary, and benefits with my new employer that do not even compare to theirs.

Pros

The pay was great, opportunity to earn commission and learn about other aspects of banking beyond being a teller.

Cons

Not room for much advancement because of a small corporation. Seniority almost always rules.
