Great benefits, including medical and retirement; job security; work can be very interesting, depending on your position, hours can be somewhat flexible.

Cons

Lower than average salaries; supervisors have free reign to favor certain employees; a lot of unnecessary training, but not enough job-related training.

Pros

try leaving with your health. keeping your peace of mind till the end.

Cons

Can't afford to use the benefits due to low pay. Went 7 years with no increase. Transit (my equipment)busses are in horrible condition and poorly maintained.

Pros

Well it's a job and a paycheck if you can tolerate it. And a new administrator will be coming, so there's hope.

Cons

The past 4 years has shown a decline in the joy of employment here. The current county administrator is not the quality leader this county needs. She has a tendency to believe all the negative without verifying the information. It has also become a place where being qualified for a job is not required; it is truly who you know, what you wear and how best you hide your incompetence. The less you do and know, the more you are rewarded. Middle management is being squeezed from below and squashed from the top and ultimately blamed for the failures of upper management and the lack of morale in the hourly employees.
