Pros

Brilliant people, very collaborative and friendly atmosphere. Always felt the criticism was constructive and useful, and felt there was a career path for me. There were a lot of interesting projects and improvements going on, and I always felt I knew what was going on, and the people upstairs 'got it'

Cons

After acquisition by AOL, there was a bit of political maneuvering, which Patch upper management couldn't quite keep us insulated from. Not really about AOL in general, more about what was happening in-company at the time, but it caused a bit of pain.

Pros

Uh, the company credit card?

Cons

Most of it from the lack of direction to the increased workload.

Nice side job, difficult to earn any real money

Pros

Making your own hours, feeling like you own something

Cons

No one cares about local news and by local I mean VERY local. So smaller towns will generally fail. If you could have St. Louis, you might be ok, but a smaller town isn't getting much traffic.
