Pros

Time off Policy. Chef's kiss for now, at least. It's the "use it while you can" special. If you are resourceful, there's networking potential, think of it as scavenging in a corporate takeover. They're transparent to a fault, letting you know every bad change inbound.

Cons

The company feels like it's in survival mode. Staffing challenges, causes by hiring freezes and layoffs, have left teams stretched thin, making workloads unmanageable and tanking morale. The focus on going public has shifted priorities towards short term goals rather than long term sustainability. Career growth has been all but dismantled, as leadership roles are filled externally and promoting from within has paused until further notice. What was once a collaborative and open environment now feels cautious and risk averse, with employees not sharing ideas and definitely not concerns. Limited resources, tools and training, while expectations continue to stack. Then the kicker. The talent. The great minds of pax8 now are all jumping ship, and a major selling point of pax8 was it's support talent, is now a mere shell of its former glory. If you are reading this review, unless you absolutely need this job, run. It's only going to get worse.

Thank you for leaving a review even though some of this was tough to read. Glad you appreciate the transparency and benefits such as our flexible PTO but I am sorry to hear your experience is so negative in other areas and you seem to have lost faith in the future direction of Pax8. I acknowledge there has been a lot of change in the support team over the past twelve months, especially in the Americas. We have had to take some tough decisions for the future sustainability and scalability of the company as it evolves from distributor to marketplace. If you have not done so already, I reccomend you reach out to your POps Business Partner to share your feedback if you do not feel able to speak to your leader directly. We value all input as it helps us improve our workplace and address concerns.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a glowing 5 star review. I'm delighted you feel Pax8 is a great place to work and is a great company. Historically Pax8 has had a very high mobility rate in our sales organisation as we have ridden the wave of great product to market fit coupled with explosive growth in the technology sector. As we start to solidify market share and raise the bar on expectations a slow down in this is a natural by-product but we are working hard to create recognition and progression opportunities outside of title changes for those who continue to own their own growth and development. Keep doing what you're doing and thank you for all you're contributing to Pax8.

Pros

Culture - I've worked for 12 companies and this is by far the best culture that I've experienced. Despite explosive growth, Pax8 has managed to maintain a healthy balance of a fun startup culture with the benefits of a stable, established company. Everyone I work with has been genuinely nice and supportive from day 1. Leadership - They're not perfect, but I think they've done an amazing job growing the company, maintaining a positive work environment, and providing a vision for the future. Growth - We've been growing at a staggering rate for many years and there is still enormous opportunity to get bigger and better. AI focus - The leadership team has proven their commitment to setting up the company and employees for success by creating a dedicated AI department and investing resources into AI tools and training. It's still early days, but this is where the world is heading and it's critical to be at a company that embraces the future and cares about giving employees fundamental AI skills.

Cons

Growing pains - I've been with the company less than 3 years so I haven't seen a huge culture shift, but I've heard people that have been here longer than me say that the job was more fun when it was a smaller company. We had a big layoff (~5% of the workforce) earlier this year and I think it had a pretty big effect on the general mood and spirit of the company, but my department wasn't really impacted and I think people are less stressed than they used to be. Focus on profitability - As a stockholder, I am all for this. As an employee, it's hard to see budget cuts when a lot of teams seem understaffed. We're still growing and hiring new people, but I'm hoping that the budget will loosen a bit once we reach profitability. Reorganization - I have seen more department and team reorgs in the past few years than any other company. It can be pretty annoying, but most of the time they seem like thoughtful changes to improve the company and people seem to adapt pretty well. Too much opportunity - This obviously sounds like a good thing, but it actually makes it difficult to prioritize and focus when there are so many business and growth opportunities.

Thank you forl eaving a 5 star review. It is incredibly gratifying to read that we come out on top in terms of people and culture from someone with such experience. I also appreciate your balanced and constructive feedback on the areas we can improve. Pax8 has always been a high growth company but in recent years we've also been looking to evolve alongside our rapid growth. This undoubtedly puts strain on the organisation and we have been making strategic investments to remove these growing pains in future years and ensure we have a scalable, sustainable platform for growth. As a technology organisation we are always looking for ways we can drink our own champagne and use software to support teams becoming more efficient however I acknowledge the benefits can take a little while to manifest after deployment. If you have not done so already please share this thoughtful and constructive feedback with your people leader. We appreciate the opportunity to continually improve on the back of open conversations. I'm delighted to have you with us on this journey.
