Pros

Great training. Good benefits. Great job to build your resume

Cons

A change in the go to market strategy has put even more responsibility and expectations on the HR Sales division, yet there has not been an increase in compensation. Very underpaid for the expectations and skillset required. Tremendous micro-management. High turnover . Stress levels of the sales team is through the roof.

Pros

Decent benefits, but not as good as other corporations like Paychex. There are many training opportunities for Rochester, NY employees, but not as many for other employees around the country.

Cons

They work you to the core! We had triple the work load compared to same roles at similar companies, but a quarter of the pay. For example a payroll specialist supports 250-300 clients, compared to employees at other companies that support 50-100 clients and are paid more than Paychex employees for the same role. There systems are cumbersome & old. Takes hours to figure out simple questions. Employees from all over the country have been quitting left & right for the past few years. Doesn't seem Paychex cares to loose good employees.

Pros

Solid product training provided. Company benefits that start almost immediately. Stock purchase option. Can work out of multiple office locations. Typically an 8-5 position - no overtime required

Cons

Competing with several internal sales divisions for same payroll clients - cannibalism at it's finest. Although they promote "partnership" sales internally, most partners do NOT work together. It's a sales job and their are "poachers" in the company, but as long as they are at quota (aka their "top performers") they get away with it! Not cool at all. Managers protect them. some of the offices are just a hostile sales environment - HIGH turnover - which is a shame, because they hire good people with solid sales backgrounds -
