Pros

If you have a good manager and supportive team, the commissions can be incredible. 100% WFH, if that’s your preference. Full suite of benefits that are affordable. Good resume booster.

Cons

A lot of favoritism, sales roles/abilities began getting blurred (ex: A product that was once exclusively sold by one department/division is now sold by multiple departments/divisions.). This causes unnecessary competition within your territory and impacts the amount of revenue you sell. They also started paying less commission on certain products, meanwhile they increased quota. Not necessarily a con, but base salary sucks and is a true commission based sales job.

Pros

The only pro is that you work from home.

Cons

Paychex has the highest turnover I have ever seen in my 20 year professional career. Within 2 weeks of starting, my manager and three out of eight teammates had been let go. By the time I left the company there had been a complete overhaul from when I started. You can't trust anyone and you cannot count on anyone. It isn't just a local thing either. The average tenure for an employee is less than 4 months.
