Every single rep I ever met is terrified that they’ll be next to get fired. Motivation is fear-based, and that’s by design.
Has the feel of a scammy multi-level marketing company on the inside. Corporate HQ cares more about how much you’re drinking their kool aid than your actual financial performance, and star reps are constantly being fired on minimal notice. President’s Club means nothing in terms of job security, and they’ll start interviewing your replacement the second that they think you had one bad week.
The whole “our sales reps are so rich” image that they push so hard is fools gold. Clawbacks are common, stock gifts don’t vest for years and years (they know you won’t be around long enough for them to vest), and they won’t hesitate to pull reps off of deals and fire people on the spot. When I first opened my desk drawers, I found business cards from 4 prior reps who didn’t last longer than 8 months
