Pros

There are many pros for working at this company: Healthcare benefits, Training opportunities, opportunities to become a leader, working with cutting edge technology, and many more. I can be a great place for a intelligent, hard working, dedicated person. But..

Cons

The major Con of working at this company is that there are very few strong leaders that provide good direction to subordinates. If one is unlucky they could end up working under a manager that doesn't actually know what is going on with the team they are over. Assumptions and perception become the way some leaders choose to make their decisions in handling people. They don't investigate as to why something may be occurring. If you ever experience something that would be considered unethical, racially offensive, some sort of harassment; be mindful of whom you report it to. Reporting it to a Team Lead in the hopes that they will handle it correctly is not the best avenue, in my experience. Nothing was done to remedy the situation, and within two weeks I was fired after reporting that a team member made a racially offensive comment in the presence of myself and one other team member.

Pros

Base salary, uncapped commission and co-workers

Cons

I was facilitating 2 deals, 1 of which my manager said would be the biggest they had ever been apart of (they were there for a couple of the meetings). Working the deal for a couple months - they were owned by a VC company so things moved slowly. The week that I was going to get the commitment call from the client my manager terminated me do to "performance". I never was able to see if either of those 2 deals went through. Completely confused and disappointed in the "reasons" for the termination. Watch your back! Apparently my manager was always calling co-workers to check up on me.

Pros

They think extremely highly of themselves and believe they are probably the greatest company in existence. Reality: Status quo corporate hive-mind. You will do well here if you like overwhelming workload, endless rhetoric, shameless self-promoting, and ethical grey areas when dealing with your clients. You get some OK $4 lunches and some industry minimum healthcare for $1 per paycheck! You'll learn how to deal with pressure and nonsense in a stressful-by-design work environment to put on your resume for your next job.

Cons

As a Paycom specialist you will service upwards of 150 clients. You are sold to the client as a "dedicated specialist" and they expect you to be such. Good luck giving your personal attention to 150 different organizations. Every day that you drag yourself out of bed begrudgingly to go to your next day of dealing with issues that you can't do anything about because the software is so flawed. In house development is nice if you actually fix the issues and give what the clients want rather than creating a new buggy product to push to the clients by salespeople who know nothing of what happens after they shine up the turd and get their commission check. Really, they claim ADP is their biggest competition when they aren't even in the same category. ADP is an industry giant, Paycom is an industry bottom feeder that is experiencing exponential growth that they cannot keep up with from a staffing/retention standpoint.

Paycom is committed to continuous improvement, employee engagement and developing the best solutions in the HR technology space. We want to be the best company we can be. We are committed to improving our processes to make work less demanding for our employees, while still providing quality support to our clients. Specialist workload is based on experience, skill, knowledge and tenure. Health insurance benefits and perks provided to employees are highlighted positively by our employees and job seekers. Additionally, due to the ease of use of the Paycom platform not every client requires the assistance of a specialist. One of our core strengths is our dedication to create and evolve HR technology that is truly built in a single-database over a patchwork quilt of solutions. As we grow, we will continue to innovate and provide the support our clients deserve and respect.
