Pay is not great, and neither are raises. I feel very discouraged after speaking to my district leader and hearing things from upper management. We really only ever hear when we do things incorrectly, and rarely get praise for the things we have done right. They may tell us to get rewards to a 35, and we do, and then they say well that's good but your UPT's were below a 2.00. There's never a simple Great job! for something that we have worked really hard for. They put A LOT of pressure on us for things that are ultimately out of our control. Going back to the rewards, beyond asking someone if they would like to sign up and relaying the benefits of doing so, whether they want to sign up or not is out of our hands, but the upper management wants us to brow beat customers into it. It makes me very uncomfortable. I also had a customer complain to me that our DM was being too pushy with her when she came up to the register to pay (he was on the floor trying to demonstrate to us - on her - how to suggestive sell). She was obviously annoyed and I didn't know what to tell her.
