Pros

Decent benefits, some good people, very flexible, transparency from executives, easy to move internally.

Cons

Unfortunately Paylocity has become a shell of what it used to be. Paylocity’s main focus now is profits, and they will do anything to get there even at the expense of employees mental health. Employees are overworked, under-appreciated and extremely underpaid. Employees who are deserving are passed up for promotions or given insulting increases for the promotions they are given. The benefits are ok, the PTO is awful compared to industry standard.

Pros

It’s hard to see a pro today. The company makes money to support rich investors.

Cons

Earlier this week an employee within the company passed away. This employee worked over five years for Paylocity. Even while sick and battling illness she worked until the finals stages of her life. It was a devastating loss to all of those that knew her. Today during a company wide meeting I thought they would have taken a minute of their time to acknowledge this employee and her service to the company. No, nothing was mentioned. She dedicated the final days of her life to continue to work for Paylocity and the CEO or other executives couldn’t acknowledge her? Instead they talked about how busy we all were working.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. We empathize with you as we are deeply mourning the loss of our employee. We are currently working with a committee to celebrate the employees’ life including a framed memorial for their office space in addition to coordinating a celebration of life event. We have also offered grief counselling to employees within our Lake Mary office. We highly recommend connecting with your HR Business Partner should you need to leverage additional bereavement support. We strive to support each employee and are happy to further discuss so that we can best support you, especially during this difficult time. We greatly appreciate your thoughts and will continue to learn from such feedback and continue to consider various ways to support our employees.

Pros

Decent pay, good benefits, steady schedule.

Cons

Back to Back phone calls ALL day through the holiday season. If you enjoy taking time off during the holidays to spend with loved ones, stay FAR away from this company as taking time off in December and January is strictly FORBIDDEN! The amount of stress you will go through in a week here will turn your hair gray, I have proof. Each day I clock out and still am not caught up and am expected to clock back in and catch up instead of spending time with my family and doing things I like or simply keeping my home in order. If I get behind at all I am accused of not caring about my work or 'being distracted'. I'm sorry work is not my life. Work pays my bills so I can have a life. But I am having to work 3 hours of overtime several nights a week just to keep up. But this is normal and everyone feels this overwhelmed so leadership views it as the 'norm' and does nothing about it. Project time is cancelled on 'Red' or high call volume days so you cannot even get to your 30+ emails that are rolling in all day until after you are off phones, hence the need for overtime. Then clients ask why you are emailing them after 6pm when they asked the question at 9am that morning. Clients act entitled and do not even TRY to figure things out for themselves due to there being NO hold time when they call in. Something that would take them 2 seconds to figure out prompts them to call since they know they don't have to wait to talk to an account manager. Very disgusted with some of the leadership's workaholic mentality as well. It is not a healthy environment in any capacity. I have made it 2 years and think about quitting every day but haven't any energy left when I clock out to update my resume or look for another job. The actual job is simple, learn the product, answer questions, research what you can, reach out to support for what you don't know. The part that causes an issue is the sheer workload expected from an individual and the broadness of knowledge as well as you will be required to know a lot about many things instead of focusing on a main product. I am hard worker, I like working, but when a desk job causes a drain on you physically, mentally, emotionally...then it is not a good work place. And the excuse "everyone feels this way" means there's a bigger problem at hand. FIX IT!

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. We recognize that Account Managers are especially busy around Year End and are at the forefront of assisting with client-related needs. Our Talent Acquisition team is working hard to recruit additional talent within this area of the business as well as others. We’re fortunate to be a rapidly growing company, but with that, we realize the need for additional support. We highly recommend connecting with your manager or HR Business Partner to discuss the unwanted overtime hours in which you are working. We want to ensure that you are supported and that we can help you manage your workload. Thank you for all of your effort, we truly appreciate all that you do to support our clients.
