      Wonderful mission, a company in the midst of transition

      Pros

      Pay is very competitive in the local market, great teamwork in my department and other departments, focus is on patient care, management listens to caregivers

      Cons

      There is a lot of change happening right now as Peacehealth continues to transition from a holding company to an operating company, this should have happened at least 15 years ago, so there is lots of catch up going on. Operations needs to become more efficient and modern and caregivers need to adjust and not stay stuck in the 80's.

      Pros

      Great co-workers Decent Salary until you top out, then nothing. Great care for trauma and critical patients

      Cons

      There are always committees and meetings and ridiculous changes coming down the pike. They should just focus on good patient care, keeping a clean and sanitary environment and decent employee benefits.

      Pros

      I can't think of any. I stayed for as long as I did because I thought "if we can just get through this transition, it will get better". It didn't.

      Cons

      It was like being in middle school. The paranoia bred by years of wage freezes and waves of lay-offs created an atmosphere that was unbearable. The COO of our facility actually stood up in front of management and told us that it was our fault that the hospital was doing so poorly financially. We were patient caregivers. It wasnt our job to worry about the bottom line. We were there to take care of the patients.
