Pros

It's a job that gives you 40+ hours a week.

Cons

Only family members and those from the same country get promoted. Most people don't speak English very well. Hostile environment. Low pay. Most of the employees don't respect others, pee all over the toilet seats and floors. The clean rooms are very noisy, loud music, shouting, and loud machinery (most of get a headache within 3 or 4 hours).

Pros

After working here for several years, I’m shocked by the financial success this company has had and has made me realize what a fluke success in business is, which is a great lesson I learned here. I’ve recently taken a training in ethical leadership and the examples of what not to do were everyday occurrences at Penumbra. From conflicts of interest, to favoritism, to harassment...Penumbra has it all. I wish the HR department would feel empowered to make some changes because an experienced HR professional would laugh.

Cons

It is the type of company that thinks all its workers should feel so grateful to work there even though their benefits are OK and pay is below average. I would guess I was a higher earner than average, and I got an offer at a very similar medical device company located close to Penumbra and it paid 40% more. I also got offers in different industries that paid even greater. If there was great experience (responsibility, learning, scope), then maybe the pay decrease would be worth it. However, the leaders love to micromanage and don’t ever want to get outshined by their reports, so what you can do is limited. Instead of working collaboratively, the culture is more competitive against not only your peers but your superiors and reports as well.
