Long Term Nightmare Employment

Pros

I cannot think of any pros, they are all contradicted by cons.

Cons

This company has a long history of dispicable management practices. I personally saw many examples of their abhorrent policies and the disrespect of their employees. I witnessed droves of employees leave the company due to dishonest pay cuts or other atrocities. Many violations of human rights are the norm. The employment office did not recommend them for a job, they advised me to seek work elsewhere. Violations of employment law are rampant. I was forced to choose to take care of my disabled parents and leave the company because they arbitrarily changed my shift after 15 years. I was constantly being harassed because of taking care of my parents. They violated my FMLA rights and delayed approval., causing me to have anxiety attacks. Management betrayed a promise to help me. This is an atrocity after 15 years of dedicated service..a stab in the back!

Just a J-O-B

Pros

People you work with are mostly friendly. Pay day every Friday. The work is simple and repetitive, so you'll begin to feel like you really know what you're doing around weeks 4-6.

Cons

No benefits accessible until after 1 year, 401K maxes out at their 4% after your 16%. Cannot earn/ask for raise until after 1 year. Can be disciplined/fired for policies not in handbook. Dead-end job either at entry level or one step higher for majority of employees. Very few people who work there actually like the company. Management does not value ideas from employees. Company refuses to modernize/change. Sexist/classist dress code. May have to work Saturdays near holidays. Departments are pit against each other which creates hostility. Because you do not start in a position, but only a "trainee," you have even less job security.

Management and culture toxic

Pros

Starting pay is better than minimum wage. Plenty of overtime to be had

Cons

-Toxic management -Paychecks are hardly ever accurate -They make too many promises they can't follow through on -Insanely high turnover rate -No accountability among management -Best workers don't get moved up because they're too hard to replace in their current roles -Worst workers are untouchable. The VP likes to "fix" lost causes. They'll skip a day a week, come in late, show up high, not do their jobs, and still not face disciplinary action. -If you put in your 2 weeks, they'll fire you on the spot.
