Pros

I enjoyed working at Perdue (for the most part). The work was interesting and the pay was good while it lasted. If you are in the bonus plan when it pays it is very good. The benefits are good. Family run business.

Cons

Perdue is very cost sensitive in the wrong places. Instead of cutting waste where it exists galore in operations their focus is on cutting headcount and economizing on the materials and processes that actually help people do their job better.

Pros

Good pay, great people to work with, good reputation

Cons

Constantly reorganizing based on the flavor of the month by executives. Once you exceed the midpoint for salary earnings, attend each workday as if it is your last - for it could very well be the last of employment.

Pros

Good benefits and the locations are easy to get to without having to commute from very far. They have allot of luncheons which is nice but not very health oriented.

Cons

Management is unprofessional at some of the Perdue offices. It really does depend on what location you are working at. Corporate is a totally different world from the plants and the transportation departments at Perdue. The Corporate office seems to have a much better grip on professionalism. Mid level Managers are beyond unprofessional and have accepted the standard answer for all situations as "It is what it is". Because people work in open environments and the management staff tends to stir trouble and fuel back biting the attitudes at Perdue are like cancer. Most of the management have never worked anywhere except Perdue and as a result they have no experiences to pull from. terrible communication across the board! Policies that were very important to your daily job tasks would take place and my manager would literally say, "OH! I guess I forgot to tell you guys". And I am serious! Most of the people at Perdue are good people who are just trying to earn a decent wage to feed their families. The wages are decent but nothing to get excited about. The only people who make a good wage are salaried employees and that is nothing to strive for because once you are salaried, Perdue will get 60-70 hours out of you a week. Once you do the math your not getting paid very much to be working on your laptop at your kids birthday party or wedding.
